7 Diabetes Foot Care Tips

For the diabetic people, take care for the feet is a must. If you don't look after your feet, you run the risk of getting sores or infections that could in the worst case scenario, just like amputations. Minimize your risk of infection or amputation by taking in these 7 foot care tips:

1)  Check your feet daily - especially if you have low sensitivity or no feeling in your feet. Problems like grazes, sores, cuts and grazes often come unnoticed and you will get big problems leading to amputations. 

2)  Never go to one place with barefoot, even indoors. It's easy to tread on something or stub your toes and cut yourself. You have to make sure that your feet keep safe your feet with using socks or stockings and shoes or slippers.

3)  Watchful if you have corns or calluses. You have to consult to your doctor or pediatrist. That is the best solution to care for your feet. 

4)  Clean your feet daily with warm water, don't use hot water. And don't swamp your feet (even if you've been standing all day) because it will make your skin dry and cause sores or cracks on your feet.



5)  Be carefull when you dry your feet completely, mainly the area between your toes. These area often cause natural moisture traps - letting them moistenned or wet could causing all sorts of problems. 

6) Do some workout for your legs and feet routinely. Keep do that, even when you are sitting on the chair, you still can move your ankles; jiggle your toes or move your legs up and down. These all will make your blood circulation steraming and keeps to reduce the risk of feet problems. 

7)  Take your feet care professionally observed, leastwise once in a year, for sensitivity and signs of any problems.  You can arrange this usually, when you have your annual medical check up for your AC1 levels (blood glucose levels over a 3-month period), blood pressure and cholesterol. 


Take continual care for your feet. Looking for help from a relative or professional; Doctor, diabetic nurse or podiatrist if you are not able to bend when cutting nails or checking for sores. Doing these easy actions, will help you to reduce the risk of painful problems.
